CULTURAL TECHNOLOGIES – ADAPTIVITY AND CULTURAL SENSITIVITY IN DIGITAL DESIGN AND FABRICATION

Transformation of Architectural Heritage in collaboration with Digital Experimentation.

Cultural Technologies is the result of a 5 day workshop with Digital Experimentation, during which participants has worked with digital processes, encompassing fully automatized translations of conventional photos of artificial landscapes to three dimensional digital models through new photogrammatic tools.

The scanned landscaped formed the basis of an inquiry of architectural adaption to challenging topographies through the development of adaptive, parametric systems.

The landscapes and parametric structures were produced through digital fabrication processes via automated nesting and laser cutting.

6. STUDIO TRANSFORMATION OF ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE – AUTUMN 2011

Studio Transformation of Architectural Heritage works with the changes which are continually made within the culturally created environment. This term, they have been focusing on investigations and value proposition as a basis for the restoration and transformation of historic buildings.
The point of departure has been processes of change in the buildings of Aarhus.
